Social Engagement Charity Hellabeem

In Sri Lanka, the percentage of people working in tea cultivation is higher than in any other country in the world. Sri Lanka has been one of the top five tea producers for many years. It mainly produces black teas in the seven tea growing areas around Adam's Peak, today's Sri Prada. Teeproduction is therefore one of the largest economic sectors in Sri Lanka. Since alveus® also sources their valuable ceylon from Sri Lanka, we too want to give something back to this country.

In 2002, Dutch volunteers Helene Heijen and Jan van Beek founded the voluntary organization "Hellabeem Foundation". Hellabeem is an internal training and rehabilitation center for young people with physical disabilities and social disadvantages. The organization focuses on this particularly unimaginative group. Physiotherapy, learning a profession and social support in a family environment, the young people have the chance to live independently later. With the support of our volunteers and donors, these young people can look to a secure and independent future.
